Jewelry Care
Caring for your Jewelry
General care for your jewelry is very important. Fine jewelry is designed and crafted to last a lifetime, however, proper care is required to assure the lasting qualities of your jewelry. Avoid wearing fine jewelry when doing rough work, bathing or swimming, as exposure to chemicals can damage and discolor precious metals and gemstones. It is recommended that you visit a jeweler at least once a year to have your jewelry professionally cleaned. Also, have your jewelry checked for loose prongs, worn mountings, and general wear and tear.
Storing your Jewelry
Proper jewelry storage is often overlooked. When not wearing your jewelry, store it in a clean, dry place. It is best to separate your pieces of jewelry. This will help prevent unwanted scratches, tarnishing and fractured gemstones. Personlized-Jewelry comes in a box or pouch, which is a perfect place to keep them.
Cleaning your Jewelry
Over time a film may develop over your jewelry. The oils in your skin, household cleaners and beauty products can cause this buildup of residue. By periodically cleaning your jewelry between professional cleanings, you can maximize your jewelry’s brilliance and beauty. An easy way to clean your jewelry is to use mild soap or ammonia and water solution with a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub away the buildup. After brushing, simply rinse with lukewarm water and allow your jewelry to dry. Be wary when using ultrasonic cleaner machines as some can damage jewelry.
